Google Bard: How Does it Compare With Bing Chat? Now that Google Bard has been out for a little while, it is time for the AI showdown of the century (or, well, at least until the next cool AI tool is launched, so, like, maybe two weeks or so from now). In this post, we will compare the new and slightly uneasy Google Bard with the previously unrivaled Bing Chat search features.
What is Google Bard?
Google Bard is a large language model (LLM) chatbot developed by Google AI as a means to compete with the widely successful ChatGPT and Bing Chat platforms. It was released in March 2023 as a beta program that can generate text, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer questions in an informative way. It is powered by a massive dataset of text and code and is trained to be informative and comprehensive.
When Was Google Bard Released?
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, announced on February 6 the launch of Bard, an innovative AI chat service. Bard is powered by Google's Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA), which was introduced two years ago.
Can I Use Google Bard?

Will AI Replace Human SEOs?
The short answer: not for the foreseeable future because AI is still in its infancy and needs many years of development to truly "replace" such intricate jobs as one finds in the SEO world.

We've been using Google Bard for a couple of weeks. Overall, it has a similar feel to ChatGPT and Bing Chat but is still in its infancy and needs more time for further development. It should also be noted that Bard is more like a hybrid of Bing Chat and ChatGPT, though for the sake of this post, we will assume they all do the same thing (because, well, they pretty much do).

Bard is still a huge step in the right direction for AI chatbots. The biggest issue is that there is a lot of misinformation on the internet, which is a big part of where Bard pulls its information from. It is a huge task to distinguish truth from opinion, as we very well know, but Bard will continue to improve its responses. We are excited to see what boundaries Google will be able to shatter with the ongoing development of Bard.
Bing Chat
We've been using Bing Chat, powered by OpenAI's GPT-4, for several months. There are some very cool features, but Bing Chat still has a long way to go before it gets our full stamp of approval (easy for me to say, right?).

Here are some of the things that Bing Chat can do:
- Search the web and provide you with links to relevant websites.
- Answer your questions comprehensively and informally, even if they are open-ended, challenging, or strange.
- Create written content, such as poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, emails, letters, etc.
- Gather trip planning ideas, such as finding flights, hotels, and activities.
- And more!
Bing Chat is still under development, but it is constantly learning and improving. Microsoft is working with developers to add new features and capabilities to Bing Chat in the future.
Bing Chat User Interface
Bing Chat's user interface is decent in comparison to Google Bard's. It is simple and easy to use, but unlike Bard, there are three different options for returning queries: Creative, Balanced, and Precise. These options will adjust certain parameters in your query, which will ultimately change the response.

The Bottom Line
Although Bing Chat is significantly more developed than Google Bard, it still has a long way to go. In this post, we go into more detail as to the apparent shortcomings of Bing Chat and what they could do to improve the user experience.
Again, both of these platforms are still in the experimental phases. Someday soon, they will most likely completely change the way we think about searching the web, which is extremely exciting.
In Summary
So, after all the hullabaloo (yes, apparently, I live in the 1700s), which platform is superior? After due consideration, we have concluded that Bing Chat is the frontrunner thus far in the quest to integrate AI into search engines. But, it should be noted that Bard is by far the younger of the two, with far fewer development and machine learning hours.
Is it really fair to compare the two at this point? Perhaps not. But we are extremely excited to see what the two contenders bring to the table in the next several years. Personally, I am not a fan of Bing as a search engine, so I am secretly hoping that Bard surpasses OpenAI and Bing, but I also adore OpenAI and believe they are the powerhouse in AI technology.
Until there is a seamless way to search with AI bots all right within the search engine result pages, then you can count me out of Bing Chat and Bard for the time being.
